Proressor Eleonora Masini has been involved with the Millennium Project since its pre-feasibility study in 1992 and was a orginal member of Project's Planning Committee when it began operations in 1996. She is currently the chair of the Millennium Project Node in Rome.

Eleonora Barbieri Masini is was the President of the World Federation of Futures Studies and is Professor of Prospective and Future Studies at the Gregorian University, Rome where she has overseen a number of successful doctoral students. She is the author of several books and articles, including the book Why Future Studies?

At the July 1999 and again at the March 2005 Millennium Project Planning Committee Meeting, Eleonora Barbieri Masini expressed her admiration for the fast growth and recognition of the Millennium Project and the importance of its work.
