AC/UNU  Millennium Project

Dawn of the Year 2000...
       at the Pyramids of Egypt
The Mind's Embrace of Time

The Millennium Symposium on Great Challenges of Our Time
January 1 - 3, 2000
At the Historic Mena House at the foot of the Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt

Beginning on the first day of the year 2000 at the Great Pyramids of Giza, you are invited to participate in the Millennium Symposium to explore the Global Challenges humanity faces at the Millennium with some of the greatest minds of our time.

The Millennium Symposium will be the first public forum to share and discuss the results of an unprecedented four-year global study of 550 futurists, scholars, business planners, policy advisors, and decision-makers in over 50 countries.

15 Global Challenges - questions for our time - have been identified and assessed. Actions have been suggested for each and a range of views have been documented, and you are invited to engage your mind at this time to further the conversation and strategies.

The Symposium is organized into five sessions. Each session will address three challenges. Each session is structured so that the participant will receive a formal briefing on the research results, prior to the Millennium Speaker, and have the opportunity to explore the implications for Egypt and the Middle East.

The land of the Pyramids, cross-roads of three continents and cradle of civilization, engenders universal inquiry into the meaning and direction of civilization by those who have walked its desert for six millennia. It is hard to imagine a more profound experience than the platform of thepyramids at the dawn of the year 2000 to evoke or, perhaps, reinvent insights to improve the human condition.
